　　Hello everyone, it's been so hot in these days. How have you been? Last week, I watched a DVD, " Calendar Girls ",British film in 2003 starring Helen Mirren. This story is based on the true story of a group of Yorkshire women who produced a nude calendar to raise money for the hospital.

　　This movie is not only touching and moving but also having lots of humor. After watching this movie I gave a BIG HAND for those Yorkshire women from bottom of my heart. And... I f there's 13th month in this calendar, I would have joined them

　　Why don't you try to see this film in this summer.

　　

　　Let me introduce you a poem presented by a husband to his wife.
His wife,Anny is a best friend of the main character,Chris in this film. He died by blood cancer.
He loved his wife and sunflowers. I can't translate into Japanese well but my heart could feel the warmth and depth of his love.

　　The flowers of Yorkshire are like the women of Yorkshire.

　　Every stage of their growth has its own beauty,

　　but the last phase is always the most glorious.

　　Then very quickly they all go to seed.

　　Which makes it ironic my favourite flower

　　isn't even indigenous to the British Isles,

　　let alone Yorkshire.

　　I don't think there's anything on this planet

　　that more trumpets life than the sunflower.

　　For me, that's because of the reason behind its name.

　　Not because it looks like the sun

　　but because it follows the sun.

　　During the course of the day,

　　the head tracks the journey of the sun across the sky.

　　A satellite dish for sunshine.

　　Wherever light is, no matter how weak,

　　these flowers will find it.

　　And that's such an admirable thing.

　　And such a lesson in life.

モコさん、こんにちは。「カレンダー・ガールズ」私も見ました。ユーモアたっぷりで面白いですね。面白いと思う映画が一致しているから、また面白い！映画にイギリスのお宅が出てくるでしょ？　けっこうどのお宅もアメリカなんかに比べると、小ぶりでカワユイですよね。この映画、変哲もない町に起こる一つの出来事が変哲のない町の人々を生き生きさせていく過程が、なんともexcitingですよね。また映画紹介してくださいね。楽しみにしてま～す。それからカンナの花のことアップしたんですが（かなり恥ずかしい内容！）、その中に採れたてのＪａｓｏｎの新曲をのっけてます。きっとヒット間違いなし、と思うのですが・・またお時間があればのぞいてくださいね。	Sapphire 2008/07/21 16:34
サファイアさん、こんにちは。「カレンダー.ガールズ」本当に面白かったですね。ほのぼのと暖かく、ユーモアいっぱいでイギリスらしい映画でしたね。主人公のクリスを始め、カレンダー・ガールズになる女性たちは、50～60代、私の住む町にもいそうな感じです。イギリスの古い家や手入れの行き届いた庭、あこがれますね。それにひきかえ我が家と庭は..トホホでも、もうすぐひまわりとあさがおが咲きそうです。サファイアさんのお庭にはカンナが咲いたんですか? これから見に行きますね！Jasonの新曲も楽しみ～ワクワク！（^v^)/	MOKO 2008/07/21 19:29

soraさん、おはようございます。「Calendar Girls」では、ヨークシャーに住む中高年の女性たちの日ごろの生活が見えてきます。国は違っても友情、夫婦のあり方、子供、社会参加、どこかわたしたちの生活とも共通点がたくさんあり、この映画を身近に感じることができました。ぜひ観てくださいね！ soraさんおすすめの「奇跡のシンフォニー」You Tubeで予告編を見たら、「チャーリーとチョコレート工場」のあの男の子が出演しているんですね！とっても観たくなりました。毎日暑い日が続きますが、お身体に気をつけて..Take care!	MOKO 2008/07/24 08:39
お久しぶりです。「Calendar Girls」は観たかった映画です。今ちょうど自由時間満喫週間なので、ぜひDVDを借りてこようと思います。詩がどこで登場するのかも楽しみです。ところで、give a big handというのは、賛辞とかそういう意味でしょうか？初めて知った言い回しです。	norako 2008/07/27 22:32
